Saturday morning made our way back down to the waterfront.......so much to see and do. The weather was extremely hot I will admit and I always had a bottle of water in my hand. Stopped and had "henna" done on my hand an arrangement of flower petals around the wrist and across the hand an down a finger. Interesting conversation with the young woman who was doing it for me. Hurrah, once again, seems like a yearly thing but.... did find "Beaver Tails"......last time was Vancouver. Had dinner of salmon at Salty's right there on the Bay. The secret is truly to go early to eat.....much less crowded and worthwhile. That left us time to go back to the hotel (2 short blocks) and kind of relax till about 8 o'clock and then back to the waterfront. We had tickets for the cruise on the sailing ship 8:30 till 10:00 around the Halifax harbour and see the lights. Beautiful evening and a full day

Well it seems I was not able to complete that particular adventure via BB. Plus it was fun filled and packed with good memories. Already I am planning the next adventure so I should get this last one up to date. We arrived in Halifax and took the shuttle bus into the city. I did not realize the airport was so far from the city. The cost of a taxi was quoted at about $50.00 and the shuttle bus $3.00 p.p. So you know which mode of transportation we took. Got settled, had some dinner and walked around getting orientated. Happy with the location as we can pretty well walk to anything we had planned. Friday morning took a walk along the waterfront of the bay. Visited the first buildings ever erected down near to the waterfront. Very encouraging to see that in the renovations that are occurring they are actually leaving up the fronts of the building such as they have been doing in Toronto. That night onto the Tattoo which is well worth attending. Acts from all over the world and the building filled to capacity. Interesting conversation with a couple with their grandson sitting beside us. Originally from Picton, Ontario and many years have been living in Halifax. He asked about our interest in the Tattoo and shared with us his history. Somewhere around our ages he has served in 3 different navies including a submarine. So nice to hear how the grandson is right into the history of his grandpa and knows all the memorabilia in the household.

Adventure Begins

Day 1 has certainly been a day oof travel. Driving to the city at 9 o'clock in the morning. Lots of traffic and navigating to the ferry docks. The crossing takes maybe 3 minutes as you sit in the car. Just the one level. Parked on the island for the convenience. Airport lounge very comfortable with free beverages and comfortable seating. Interesting experience when we boarded up the staircase like we used to do @ Pearson. Our seats were almost @ the back and as we approached I could see 2 people already sitting in our seats. I had the boarding pass and indicated that was our seats. They replied their tickets showed the same numbers. The major difference was they were on the wrong plane. Everyone stayed in a good humour as we played musical chairs trying to let new passengers on and trying to jockey the seats. Just a little unnerving realizing this nice couple had passed 2 different checkpoints. Everything went smoothly after that We had a half hour stop in Montreal and then arrived in Halifax late afternoon. Airport is about 45 min from the city but has a metro bus for 3.25 per person that takes you right downtown. Alternative was 60.00 for a taxi. Got settled in hotel had something to eat. Enough for one day. Weather sunshine and warm.
