To set your feet on the beach at
Basinhead PEI is the real thing.
To start off the sand is creamy
white and just oozes thru your toes.
Soft and warm under your feet where
you can walk out for such a long
way. The children making sand castles
the one little boy who had dug up the
sand made his own little pond. The
sides piled up and the hole filled
with water. In this pool he had about
4 or 5 different crabs and other live
species from the gulf swimming there.
Lots of onlookers but the black and
white is a soccor ball.
Lots of people sitting on the beach
with young families enjoying the day.
The big excitement was watching the
teens as they dared one another to
make the jump. There is a canal
channel where the water ebbs and flows
with the tide. The jump was @ least
30 ft @ that time and somewhat higher
from the wooden walkway bridge. The
width about 20 ft across with a ladder
to climb up the side. Signs were posted
No Jumping but I think the 3 or 4
Lifeguards seemed to be keeping an
eye on them and the kids were not
being reckless. Just having a lot of
fun.
