It was less than an hour to drive to
the lighthouse. West Point is part of
the Provincial Park. But not to confuse
you think in terms of a large town
park. In order to protect the RED sand
dunes they have to build boardwalks
all along. You are allowed access @
certain points with steps over the dunes.
They need the grasses there to hold back
the erosion. It is as magical as you
can believe walking along the red sand.
The lighthouse was buit in 1875 and
its distinction is the fact of being
the only Black and White building.
There is an addition put on which has
2 floors consisting of about 24 units.
Our room was really in the actual
lighthouse up on the 2nd level.
The measurements are about 12 x 12
with a 15 ft high ceiling. The bathroom
was also a new addition tub toilet
Vanity and walk in shower. The furniture
was antique and the bed was extremely
deep and comfortable. Two original
